How To
On this page you will find information on different lures and how to use them.
First off we have the crank bait. This lure is a very good lure to use, it resembles real live prey such as minnows, crawfish, and so on. When fishing with a crank bait you should change your presentation depending on the conditions. If it is warm out I found that when you cast and reel in with sudden twitches and jerks you get more action. When it cold out you should have frequent and long pauses so the inactive fish can get a chance to bite the bait bacause they arnt very active.
Here we have the spinner bait. This is a very good lure when it come to catching bass. When using the spinner bait lure there are two main types of presentation. The first one is a steady retrieve in which you would cast the lure out and jut reel in at a steady speed. The second is a stop and go retrieve in which you would cast out and give your line a quick jerk making the lure jump and then letting it fall to the bottom. Note: The large and Small Mouth bass usually bite the lure on the fall. Keep doing this until the line is reeled all the way in.
This crank bait above is a deep diving crank bait. How can you determine this? The bigger the lip on the crank bait the deeper it dives and the smaller the lip the shallower it dives. I have found that this pattern give good results where I am fishing, which is the Shenandoah River
This lure is a top water bait known as a Buzz Bait. This lure is very effective when the water is calm. You can tie a trailer hook on to the main hook to make sure you get a good hook set. The Buzz Bait can be used in heavy cover making it a good bass lure considering that bass like to hide in cover during sunnny days.
This is the most go to lure among bass anglers. The plastic bait has the look and feel of a real live bait which makes it a real realiable . When fishing with a soft plastic there are many different ways to set up a plastic bait. The different ways include Texas rig, Carolina rig, Center rig, and a Bottom rig. I will Show these types of rige in the other pictures.
